Sail Greece Dodecanese Things To Do

Relax. Greek style.

Things To Do on this trip

Experience the laidback Meditteranean flair so unique to this remote part of Greece, just a few miles from the coast of Turkey. Learn to sail, take the helm, and be in charge of the boat during the night watch. Try fishing, take a hike to the top of the hills, cross a crater, come across a pod of dolphins. Feel the bond with your crew, yourself, the wind, the sea, and the lovely people of the Dodecanese islands.

Hike to the ruins in Tilos

Hike from Tilos’ harbour to the island’s old capital, Mikró Chorió, first settled in the 15th but completely abandoned since 1960, its inhabitants having moved down to the harbour in the 1930s. Walk through the winding roads and imagine what life would have been like there just 100 years ago.

Walk through a volcanic crater

Be amazed as you hike down to the largest crater of the active volcano on Nisiros, and get up close and personal with the fumaroles for some great pictures.

Sunrise Sail

If the crew is feeling up for it, we can leave Chalki before the sun rises and try to get a headstart on the long 50 mile sail to Lindos. The experience of seeing the sun appear on the horizon while sailing on the sea will be unforgettable.

Extra Activities

Sailing is fun not only due to the wind, ropes and people who join us. We like to be creative with our time on board. Feel free to suggest even the most crazy of ideas! We like to experiment!

Life On Board

Living on a yacht is a bit different to living in a house. You will live on the blue side of the sea, and have the sea  as your backyard. Sailing frees the spirit and strengthens the mind. It decreases privacy, so hiccups, quirks and weaknesses are rapidly exposed. It’s definitely not for everyone, but everyone who tried it learned a lot about themselves. Therefore, don’t wait until your life responsibilities anchor you: take the plunge. You’ll be glad you did.

A typical day on board

Wake up and soak in the warm Meditteranean sun. Have a coffee in town or eat breakfast on board. Set sail for a new island and enjoy the wind in your hair as the helsman shouts, “helm to lee!”. As we approach the destination port, get ready to moor. With the yacht secured, explore the port, the village, hike up the local hill, cook with your mates, eat out or sing the night away.

A new island everyday

Every day a different port, every evening a different skyline. While staying at a hotel gives comfort, sailing takes it to a new level by providing constantly changing scenery and an access to the most remote sights.

Absolute freedom

Take in a unique view of the world as you look at the horizon from the top of the hill, take in where you came from, where you’re going, and ponder the beauty of the moment.

People to meet

We are open to anyone who is open. If you are ready to share a yacht for a week, be honest, true and enjoy yourself, join us. We immediately assume you to be a friend and ask you to do the same. We all love exploring the nature and stepping out of our comfort zone to face new experiences. Our sailing trips are about meeting that magical sort of people, Naleians.
