join us sailing in Greece
This is a fairly undiscovered, remote and original sailing route in the Dodecanese sea. Many islands close to each other offer a great playground for sailors. A very long sailing season makes this a region perfect for sailing trips early or late in the year. When it is still or already cold in central Europe, in the Dodecanese you can still enjoy temperatures above 20*C.
Typical Greek whitewashed houses line the streets of almost every village. Tavernas offer deligthful food at a very affordable price level while the water in the anchorages is warm and beautifully blue. As this region is rather out of the beaten chart, the locals are still very friendly and welcoming. The winds are reliable and you can count on setting sails every day.
This fun and balanced sailing route will serve you authentic villages, great sailing conditions and a rich coastline to admire. Add to this delicious cuisine offered in plenty of small dishes to share, a secret lake to swim in and a castle to admire the sunset from and you have a sailing holiday to remember!

As always, no sailing experience is needed to join, as our professional skippers will introduce you to everything you need to know. The optional sailing course is free of charge, hands on and fun. More experienced sailors will be given some responsibility and can count on being coached as well.

what can you sail on ?
Below are the boat types that we use. On flotilla trips you can choose from all three boat types, whereas on offshore, one-way or exotic destinations usually just one boat type is available.

Expedition Sailboat
This is a sailboat that has seen it all. Super well equipped for many weeks offshore. Solar panels, strong batteries, water maker, satellite communications and additional sails (light wind) increase the pleasure as well as the autonomy of sailing.

Modern Yacht
The next generation of sailboats, maximum 8 year old offers additional comfort and space: large swimming platform, wider and more specious design, clever storage options and modern materials will take your sailing holidays to the next level.

Catamaran
The most spacious option there is in the world of sailing. Enormous (for sailboats) living area, large sunbathing net and deck, roomier cabins and often en-suite bathrooms offer the most comfort you can get for your money.

Stunning Anchorages
Well protected and extremely beautiful anchorages await us. A daily swim and a delightful lunch are guaranteed.
Greek Hilltop Villages
Amazing whitewashed houses climb up the hill, often crowned with windmills or castles. Expect nice strolls from the anchorages or town piers where we moor at.
Ancient Seaside Towns
Visit some of the most beautiful Greek towns on the coast. Approach them from the sea, come ashore and explore!
dodecanese, GReece – Itinerary
We stay true to the discoverers’ spirit and plan our adventures accordingly to the winds, the weather and your wishes. This means the order as well as some of the stopovers may be different than presented below. Leave planning at home! The plan showed below is only an indicative itinerary and your trip may differ. Only mad (wo)men sail against the wind!
Kos
Starting our holidays in Kos catapults us into holiday mode right away. The streets are lined with restaurants under the trees where we have the first dinner together to get to know each other. We sail out only the next morning after check-in, so… raise your glasses for a Greek toast: opa!
Vathys
On our first day out we usually sail to a beautiful bay. In this region of Greece, many bays are deep and well sheltered. At the end of the bay we drop anchor and get to know each other. Chats, drinks, night swims, common cooking and fun with floaties is on the menu.
Pandeli
A whole sailing day needs to be rewarded with a sundowner and a drink at Harris bar. Overlooking the bay where we moored, we discuss the wind and what we learned about sailing… or anything else you wanna talk about 😉
Marathos
Marathos is only one of the options available for an overnight stay near Lipsi and Arki. Some bays are remote, in some there is a couple of restaurants. On the way to these bays we drop anchor in Apronisi islands for lunch. White sands and electric blue water create a breathtaking view.
Patmos
The gem of the region, Patmos. We rent scooters or take a hike up the hill to a castle-monastery with incredible views. Strolling through narrow streets and breathing in the islanders’ lifestyle is a joy in intself. At night we see what the local bars have to offer.
Lipsi
On the last night before coming back to Kos we stay again in a remote anchorage. We raft up the boats and share a meal cooked of leftovers. If all goes well, we might end up lying on deck, admiring the starry sky.
Regatta
On Friday, the last day of our sailing trip, we have a regatta. Skippers will have taught you enough by now to let you sail the boat yourself. They are there to observe and help in emergencies but it is you and your crew who competes against the other crews.
Once the rush and excitement is over, we have the Captains Dinner (“the last dinner”) with all the crews and enjoy recalling stories from the last week, toasting to the regatta winners and savoring the last moments under the sails.
Keep the connection
Day 8 is the day to say goodbye. All the miles sailed, bays visited, skills gained and time shared with others will make us bond and build relationships. Cherish these, keep in touch and remember that your sailing tribe is there. See you another time!
What people say about Naleia
Thanks Naleia & Dominik for the greatest week of my summer! I am definitely coming back next season. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Naleia is friendly, inclusive, environmentally friendly and genuinely care about the oceans they sail in.
Thank you for our 4th trip with you.
I'll be back! 🙂
Looking forward to the next trip!
One tip, do bring your seasick pills if you are sensitive to that. You don't want to recover from your seasickness while the rest of us is swiming in bioluminescent glow in the dark plankton and having an amazing time ;).
Cheers, Marga and Joao
The prospect of cooking was daunting but in hindsight a fun teambuilding routine. Nico our skipper was very professional and cool headed, with great communication and a tailored trip to the preferences of the crew (plus a great guy to hang out with socially which makes a big difference).
Definately look forward to sailing again with Naleia at some point!
Sailing is such a gentle way of traveling, you have to be in tune with nature. Our skippers managed to avoid most mass tourism by arriving at our destinations for the night just when everyone else was leaving. This meant that we had the most beautiful islands to ourselves. Thailand is such beautiful country and the islands we discovered were absolutely stunning. I especially loved snorkeling in Ko Ha.
On top of all the wonderful experiences we learned about sailing. Hoisting the main sail, standing at the helm, doing tacks, ankering etc are all very empowering experiences!
I absolutely loved the trip and am planning to go on other trips with Naleia!
All the details are well arranged, while leaving room for improvisation and adventure, as the skippers trace the best route according to winds and spots around. You’ll be part of the crew and learn sailing (it’s perfectly ok if you don’t have a clue 🙂
Incredible landscapes, interesting chats, games, nice villages, azure waters, swimming, snorkeling, relaxing, cooking improvisation and lots lots of fun!!
Amazing sailing trips with the best people from all over the world, and best destinations. If you like sailing don't think twice!
I definitely recommend travelling with them and for sure I’ll do it again.
Learning to sail – great!
Making new international friends – great!
Flexible personalised routes - great!
Professional organisation – great!
Beautiful Croatian scenery – great!
This is one of the most awesome ways to spend a hollidays and discover a country with another point of view. Life on the islands will make you experience for example the slowness of time, the saltyness of the seas, the tastyness of freshly cooked food, the lovelyness of lasting friendships, and the cozyness of spending time in the tiny boat quarters. The organisation is professional, yet flexible. Highly recommended! Hope to be able to join again in the coming years
