You will meet people from all over the world on board and our specially designed matching algorithm will find best-fit crew to make your experience best it can be. Welcome to the world of Naleians!
Out and About Route
There is actually no fixed plan. We are faithful to the true sailing spirit, therefore we plan exact stopovers together with the wind and weather. Our trips are not a planned itinerary which is always the same. This means that the the stopovers may be different to the ones presented below, but definitely these won`t be less charming. In our opinion, that only makes this holiday more enjoyable!
Split is also known as the `sun-kissed flower of the Mediterranean`, due to its 330 sunny days per year. Here we discover the Diocletian Palace (UNESCO), explore narrow stone-paved streets, and admire palms at the seaside promenade. We enjoy a welcome dinner in one of the traditional konobas and before we sit down at the Peristil square where we listen to some Split`s best young musicians, we already are far, far away from our daily lives… and close to the true joy of living!
Arrival from a nearby Split Airport takes only around 20 minutes. It is a perfect location for our check-in marina and for starting our Croatia sailing holidays.
We leave our yachts in Palmizana Marina in Pakleni Otoci national park which is argued to be the most beautiful marina in the whole Croatia. After taking a water taxi to Hvar magnificent views from the Spanjola Castle are accessible after just a very short hike. Beach bars, restaurants and great vibes are in abundance! This city is very popular for with sailors doing sailing holidays in Croatia so we can meet many interesting people. We stroll through the city and after dining on fabulous food we head to the Hula Hula sunset beach to sip a drink on a sunbed and watch the sun go down.
Alternatively if we are not up for visiting Hvar, we can go for a walk along wonderfully green and vibrant pathways, explore lush vegetation and listen to the chorus of birds around the marina. Within a 10 minutes walk through a subtropical forest we find a few restaurants which serve a catch of the day. Remarkable experience for foodies or nature lovers!
Scedro stands for
delightful in Croatian language. Fine pine forests cover the whole island, bays are beautiful and quiet and the only civilization around is a few restaurants at which buoys we can moor. Or, if we feel more like being on our own, we drop an anchor in an uninhabited bay and raft the yachts together. We create our own little village, cook on board, listen to music and enjoy a solitude of being cast away!
Note: Remember to bring your music instruments! It`s a perfect place to make our own music and sing!
Korcula: there are no cars to be found in the old town. Not only because the streets are too narrow, but also because the only entrance to the city includes steps and a bridge wide enough for a maximum of three people to walk arm in arm. If this is not the best argument to enjoy this maze of stone paved streets at a leisurely strolling pace, maybe the prospect of a drink in Massimo Coctail bar (on a medieval tower) and some live music will convince you to join us in experiencing this incredible city?
Not without a reason Korcula got a nickname of
Little Dubrovnik. It has all the advantages of Dubrovnik: built as a stronghold on a shield plan, defense towers, artsy culture, etc… but it does NOT welcome 1.5mln tourists yearly!
It is a mystery island and the most remote island of the entire Croatian coast. It was a military exclusion zone until 1989 and beforehand it was a pirate`s base! What treasure will we discover?….
Today the whole island is a Nature Park. The fish density is the highest in whole of Croatia, there is plenty of hiking trails, secluded beaches and a few little settlements. Simply a dream! We prefer to moor at one of marine bunkers, hike the nearby hill to enjoy sunset, explore underground tunnels, ruined factories and go back to our boats to celebrate life with music, dancing, cooking and whatever spontaneous ideas come to our heads! Music jam, fire show, cook off, shade show, beach bon fire… just be yourself and do what you feel like pirate! Arrrrrrrr!
At Naleia we call these types of bays `Foody Bay` and I think these are a characteristic feature of sailing holidays in Croatia. Foody Bays are well sheltered and there is a single restaurant where we delight our taste buds with barbecued meats or seafood that cannot be fresher! We again raft our yachts and embark on a gourmet travel. We suggest ordering Peka which is a traditional Croatian meal cooked under an iron bell. Octopus, fish or lamb is slow cooked for 3 hours together with various sorts of vegetables. Juices of fish or meat mix with the vegetables giving them taste that is beyond imagination…
Other Yacht Life Perks
Everyone and everything becomes quiet and peaceful when the sun goes down while you still sail. Magic.
You can use one of the lines attached to the top of the mast to swing out of the yacht to dive into the water!
A long line behind a yacht and a bunch of people holding onto it. Exciting and refreshing!
Remember to bring your ABC snorkeling set. The Croatian coast is full of marine life!
Everyday we aim to stop at vibrant bays for a quick lunch and snorkelling. This is an essence of sailing holidays in Croatia. We drop an anchor and enjoy the beauty of the nature around us. We eat what we cook on board, swim in crystal clear water, sunbath and relax. And if you wish to, you can climb the mast to take such a great photo! Afterwards another sailing session awaits!
We always have a regatta on Friday, the last day of our sailing in Croatia. You put your newly learnt sailing skills into use and take the reins. Skippers do not help at all and the team has lots of fun competing for a little prize!

Most Frequent Questions About Sailing in Croatia
WHO WILL BE ON MY YACHT?
Around 50% of the people who come to my sailing holidays are coming solo. 25% in groups of 2 and 25% in the group of 3 and more. As there is a few yachts I take special care in matching people to the crews. I even wrote a little blog post about that: Matching Yacht Crews for Sailing Holidays
WHAT DOES THE EXACT ITINERARY LOOK LIKE?
At Naleia we plan as we go according to the weather conditions and all crews` moods. There are a variety of places that we can visit, but the order and exact choice is only made each morning after verifying the weather conditions. Leave planning at home! We live for the moment!
WHEN CAN I CHECK-IN ON THE FIRST DAY AND WHEN DO WE ARRIVE TO MARINA ON THE LAST DAY?
Check-ins are always on Saturdays at 16h00. You are naturally most welcome to come earlier and say hello! Our yacht will be being cleaned at this moment, so we will need to wait a little. We leave the port next morning (Sunday) after breakfast.
On Friday, the last day, we arrive at our marina in the afternoon: 15h00-18h00. We need to check-out and leave the yachts before 09h00 on Saturday morning.
HOW MANY YACHTS WILL BE IN CROATIAN FLOTILLA?
There won`t be more than 5 yachts in our Croatian flotilla. This allows us to fit into small and uninhabited bays, moor at little restaurants and it makes the group small enough to have a cosy and friendly atmosphere that allows spontaneous ideas to come to life! For example: hiking the nearby hill to admire the sunset, going to a local concert or jamming on our yachts!
